Recycling Love: A Pop-up Store of the Most Precious Objects from Our Beloved Artists is a project presented by FiRU and hosted by the Blue Room (annex space of Blue Lotus Gallery) as an experiment to explore the ideas of representation and discard, fiction and fact, and reflect on celebrity and the value of art.
During the run of the Hong Kong International Art Fair 2011, FiRU set up a pop-up store and invited 30 artists to leave personal non-art objects with them for the purpose of sale and bartering. Every object comes along with a statement from the artist. Artists donate an object, tell the story behind it – be it fictional or true – and set the price.
Objects unsold at the store are being featured on this site until someone takes them.
